Exercise 1 - Understanding meaning
Contrast means to compare two things in order to show how they are different.

Contrast can be used as a noun or a verb. In this exercise, contrast is used as a verb.

For example:

If you contrast the behavior of young children with the behavior of older children, you will see many differences.

Today, the President’s views contrast sharply with what he said last year, when he wanted people to vote for him.
