Exercise 1 - Understanding meaning
To deduce means to use facts or evidence to come to a logical conclusion.

One way to deduce something is to ask yourself: "If..., then..., so....".

For example:

If John is taller than Harry, and Harry is taller than Ann, then John must be taller than Ann.
