framework
Exercise 1 - Understanding meaning
A framework is a set of connected parts which form a frame or structure that can support something.

A framework can physically support something, like a building. A framework can also support something abstract, such as a set of ideas.

For example:

Your bones provide the framework for your body, but your morals provide the framework for your soul.
