Exercise 4 - Language in use
The syllable "ex" at the beginning of a word usually means "out of". This may help you remember that external means outside, or coming from outside.

A mix of external and internal factors often makes it difficult for students to concentrate in class.

External factors are related to factors that you can see or hear in the classroom.

Internal factors are related to the student's psychological and physiological needs.
