Exercise 5 - Language in use
How can you tell where the emphasis is?
Here are some examples:

Newspaper articles usually emphasize five things:

(1) WHAT happened.
(2) WHO did it.
(3) WHEN it happened.
(4) WHERE it happened.
(5) WHY it happened.

These 5 things are usually at the BEGINNING of a newspaper article.

Many advertisements use pictures and music to emphasize the message they want to get across.
