This exercise focuses on the importance of evaluating available information.
Evaluating Available Information
Accessing information has never been easier - but access is only the first step. Today students also need to know how to evaluate information they see on the Internet. Many universities, for example Cornell University, have published criteria to help students evaluate information available on the Internet.
Is the writer a well-known expert in his field?
When was the information written and for what purpose?
These types of questions will help students assess whether information is reliable and accurate.
