Exercise 2 - Examples
'Analogical reasoning' is the type of thinking that we use to understand how different things are similar.

Questions that examine analogical reasoning often appear in IQ tests. These questions are based on 2 pairs of words, and your ability to find how the first pair of words are related. You then have to use this information to find a word that correctly completes the second pair.

For example:

A finger is related to a hand like a toe is related to a _________.

If you knew that the missing word is “foot”, then you used 'analogical reasoning' to find the answer.
