How do you know if information on the Internet is accurate?
Here are some things you can do to check whether information is accurate:
1. Look at the ending of the URL address to see if the information comes from a government (.gov), academic institution (ac.) or from a company that is trying to sell something (.com) and may give you biased information.
2. Check the publishing date to see if the information is recent.
3. Look for additional references which confirm that the information is correct.
4. Check if the text includes sources that show you where the writer got his information from.
