Adaptability in Martial Arts

The ability to adapt to any situation has always been a central goal of experts in martial arts.
Bruce Lee used the following quotation to explain this goal:

“Be formless, shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. If you put it into a bottle, it becomes the bottle. You put it in a tea cup, it becomes the tea cup. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.”
