principle
Exercise 6 - Towards academic reading
Some principles relate to our basic rights as human beings and should govern the lives of everyone, everywhere. However not all principles are universal: Some types of principles reflect the thinking of a particular society at a specific period in time. As changes occur, these specific principles may also change.
Read this paragraph and answer the question below.

Some types of principles are not universal: They reflect the thinking of only a specific society at a specific period in time. As changes occur in a specific society, its principles also change. For example, in the former Soviet Union, the principles of communism no longer answered the needs of the society or the economy. As a result, principles of capitalism were introduced.
