Exercise 6 - Towards academic reading
This exercise focuses on the structure of research articles.

Research articles published in scientific journals are usualy divided into four sections:

Introduction
Methods
Results
Discussion

These sections form a clear, pre-defined structure that facilitates comprehension and enables readers to predict with high levels of accuracy where different types of information are located.

This structure also gives researchers a "mental map", which helps them organize and present their research in a way that gives readers quick access to the answers they are looking for.

Remember that in the Results section, researchers only present statistics and objective results of the study.

In the Discussion section, the researchers discuss what they think these results mean.
Sort the questions below into 2 categories:

questions that would be answered in the Results section of a research article
questions that would be answered in the Discussion section of a research article

Drag and drop your answers into the table.
